Thinning
Written for the Young and Hungry 2010 season and debuted in Auckland and Wellington for July 2010, Thinning is perfectly pitched at a teenage audience.
Hot off the press from Eli Kent, one of NZ's freshest and most exciting young playwrights, Thinning debuted in Whangarei at the Old Library in May. With two stellar casts which was made up of teenagers from Kamo, Boys’ High, Girls’ High and the home school community we rocked the socks off Northland audiences with this wicked and potent Kiwi play.
Kent's expertly and intricately drawn characters captured the complexities of being a teenager in NZ today. It spoke candidly of the contradictions, the daily tragedies and triumphs inherent in the lives of our everyday teenager and delightfully highlighted the unfathomable bonds of enduring friendships.
The play contained some coarse language being an accurate reflection of typical teenagers in NZ today. For this reason we recommended it for your senior students (years 12 and up). The play was approximately 50 min long. We toured schools and presented Thinning at the Old Library from May 1st to the 13th May, but in the end due to the popularity of the show we had to extend the dates and times to accommodate our audiences!

The Beauty Fairypists and the Bog Bandits
Well! Who'd have thought a little gas would go such a long way! We thoroughly enjoyed the cast of Beauty Fairies, and the show was, as so many parents put it, absolutely amazing. Congratulations to the fabulicious Robert Pollock who pulled together a rag-tag bunch of kids and created a very disiplined cast
